What is a circular economy?
Research from organisations such as The Institute of Positive Fashion, suggests that, to combat fashion's contribution to the climate emergency, we must change the very framework of the industry - from linear to circular.
Currently, the mainstream fashion industry operates under a linear economy, starting in the resource heavy extraction of raw materials, and, ultimately, ending in landfill disposal. Although some progress has been made to create a recycled economy, which prolongs the
life of garments, ultimately this still results in waste. The goal is to irradiate waste entirely by functioning in a fully circular economy.
